My Last Days

Wednesday August 10th (Day 46)

The days are getting shorter and I'm sitting here wishing I could stay in Korea longer but alas, it cannot happen.  We had the final exam today and it was okay...I think.  I'm hoping that it went well because I do want to pass.  Anyway, I'll find out whether or not I passed on Friday.  We had this college student sit and watch us take the test and he was admittedly cute.  Anyway, so people finished way ahead of time so they wanted me to ask whether we could leave or not if we were done with the test and the interview.  No one could ask that so they sat there fir a while until he mentioned it in Korean and I understood and then I asked and then everyone had a mass exodus to the doors and the exits around that time. After that my supporter, Nhi, Tai and I went to go take sticker pictures.  It was pretty fun.  Then, we went to the Banpo Bridge.  The bridge was pretty cool when it lit up in a bunch of colors.  We took a ton of pictures with the bridge in attempts to get the bridge in the picture.

Thursday August 11th (Day 47)

We went to Boguensa Temple this morning.  It was pretty fun and we saw the whole temple and the many Buddhists praying.  It was quite interesting.  Then we went to COEX and ate lunch there.  Afterwards we went to school and didn't do anything but play games.  I passed the test ^^.  Anyway, after that I went to Ewha and met up with some Bucheon friends and we ate donkatsu.  Afterwards we just walked around and had fun.  Then we took sticker pictures also.  Then I went home and moved to my aunt/uncle's house.  It was pretty cool.

Friday August 12th (Day 48)

Today was the completion ceremony.  However we had to be at YES by 9:30AM.  I tried to pretend I was still mad at Gooseul but she was like...you know you aren't (and I wasn't so...yeah).  We filled out evaluations and then walked to the subway station. We walked together which was fun.  Anyway, so then we got to Sogang first because we got on the subway and although we were supposed to do to the Ewha stop we ended up going to Sincheon and then we actually got to the location before the other group.  Anyway, so we had the ceremony and then the talent show in which Caroline and I did a little presentation which apparently was "cute.". We also got gifts from Sogang (도장) which is pretty cool.  After the talent show I took pictures with everyone and gave people letters.  Then I ended up leaving Caroline and going with Gooseul and Kaitlyn to a hostel that Kaitlyn did not want to stay in.  I ended up getting some money from Gooseul although I really didn't need it.  Anyway so I ended up walking up and down Insadong buying gifts and such.  I bought Gooseul and Haemi goodbye presents.  I bought Haemi a set of face packs and a scarf.  The scarf took me a while to pick but I picked it...it was white with blue pokadots.  I got Gooseul a bunch of packs and a pin.  Anyway, after that I went home and had ddukbokkie and then sangeupsal.  It was all pretty good.  Oh and that night I did a lavender pack.  It was really nice.

Saturday August 13th (Day 49)

Last day.  I woke up and my cousins and i went to go buy the Super Junior cd.  Unfortunately I have the one with Shindong on it.  Bleh.  Anyway, after that I went to go meet up with Youngmin, Kangyou and Caroline.  We ate lunch at Insadong and then we took sticker pictures and then went to the Cheonggechun stream and walked around.  Then we went to this cafe where Youngmin proceeded to break everything (but it is okay).  Anyway. after a tearful goodbye I got back home and ate dinner and got ready to go to the hostel.  I got to the hostel and dragged all my stuff in and then Junghyun and Jason helped me take it to my room.  Then afterwards, I ended up not Doug anything fun and staying with Gooseul and Haemi and everyone else.  Anyway, they actually are a lot of fun but that is totally besides the point.  Basically I stayed up all night since we had to leave at 5:30 AM...so yeah.  Everyone's host families were sad to depart with their host child and they actually did things with their host kids except mine since I never did anything with them.  This made me really sad for the first time ever and I kind of started tearing up because you have all these host families like bawling over their kids and you had mine where it was just like "bye"... and Haemi and Gooseul happened to be there and they were like it's okay, that's why you had us.  Which really is true, I don't know what I would have done without them.  They were like my host family to me.  Anyway-  I stayed up all night with like everyone else.  I did all sorts of things like carry around a bag of returned cellphones.  Anyway, on a random note- Kyungnam called me.  That was really a surprise (as I didn't see that coming). He wished me a safe trip and then was like...you don't sound enthusiastic that I called you and I was like...it's not that, I just didn't expect it had a lot of fun.  We even had a random ice cream rub at 2:30AM.  I won't forget all the memories I've made ever.

Sunday August 14th (Day 50)

So we got on the bus and drove to the airport and then we waited to check in our baggage and then we checked in our baggage and said our goodbyes.  At first I was slightly too tired to register everyone frying. I said bye to Haemi who was perfectly fine and was also wearing the scarf I bought hehe.  Then, I went over and said goodbye to Gooseul.  I think this was harder for me than it was for me to say goodbye to Haemi because Gooseul is much more emotional.  I was like...bye and then she started tearing up and then we hugged and she told me "네가 잘 뫁했어" which she was probably referring to the time she didn't show up for the cake I bought until after the cake was eaten. (update: she said this because she thought she wasn't good to me which is BULL. she was the best :) ]  This hit me the most because she still felt bad for that.  After I walked away I started tearing up too.  I also said bye to Hyemin who told me that I always think of others and am kind.  It was hard to leave them all.  I don't know when I'll see them again but I will one day.  One day we will meet again and until that day, I will live with the happy memories of the past while making happy memories in the future.  I would love to study abroad for a year but I don't know if I ever could.  Now I'm on a plane.  My butt and my legs hurts. Yeah.  I don't really want to go back to the US....I'm going to miss my life in Korea a little too much.
